The Imitation Game Review.

Brilliant! Spectacular! The story of the year. A beautiful story of a tortured man told through beautiful cinematography, acting, writing and pure love, frustration and perfection by all involved.

The film is about the work of World War II code breaker and mathematician Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock, Star Trek into Darkness). It touches on the beautiful relationship between Alan and fellow code breaker and mathematician Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley - A Dangerous Method, Atonement). It is a thoroughly thought out piece of drama that dramatizes aspects of Alan's childhood with the love of his life to his work to Bletchley Park to his questioning at the  police station about his homosexuality.

If you want to know about the British Film Industry, this is the film for you. For me, this film celebrates the beauty of the British Film Industry with the best British actors, locations and crew. It beautifully foretells the story of a tortured war hero who lost the love of his life at a young age and then was mistreated by the government of the time for being homosexual. I believe that this is because the director Morten Tyldum understood that this is a story of British History which needed to stay with its home - Great Britain, British actors and actual real locations from the actual stories. I must say that the beauty of this film is helped by the all British ensemble made up of phenomenal actors Allen Leech and Matthew Goode to name just a few. This is the film for Britain to be proud but for British people to be proud of their heritage.

It is my belief that this film is a true celebration of individuality, because it is about the portrayal of a man who sticks to his individuality. The film creates these beautiful characters brings a fresh new reality to a story EVERYONE has to know and appreciate the brilliance of.

Every single actor and actress in the film, should feel proud for creating this beautiful story. The lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch understood the brilliance and vulnerability of this person is so utterly memerizing to the point I was hanging on his every word of his portrayal. I think Cumberbatch increased his game because he had the ultimate leading lady in Keira Knightley who portrayed Alan's Turing's best friend and love interest Joan Clarke. I loved Keira's portrayal because not only did she understand Joan, she understood the beauty of the relationship. I hope the Academy sees the beauty of this film and not only award the film but these two phenomenal actors who deserve every single piece of recognition for their portrayals. For me, this is the pair's year for EXTREMELY HAPPY TIMES.

Pure beauty and excellence which celebrates a war hero with elegance and style. The film you all must see!!

Heroes.

For my hero he knows who he is and he knows who he is and he knows he is stuck with me no matter what. 

Heroes don’t grow on trees,
But they are a special seed.
They blow in the breeze,
But they stay there forever and ever.

Even with their own battles.
You can hear their voices coming out through the anguish, pain and the screams.
They are always there for ice creams too.

Heroes are rare, unique and totally special.
Heroes are brought from heaven,
with a huge heart of gold.

Heroes appreciate the little things,
Which makes you appreciate them even more to the point,
You say you love them at least once a day.

Remembrance Day - A Time for Family.

I found myself surprisingly reflective this Remembrance Sunday. I was grateful of what I have because for so many young people. War has changed their lives. They live without a parent for months on end sometimes over Christmas or a Birthday. Then in the worst case they may have had to grow up without their Mum or Dad. They are my inspiration because to grow up without your parents from a young age must be daunting and scary all in one with what young people have to adjust too without it., I thought I am so grateful for my family the fact that we celebrate everyone's birthday with a family meal and spend Christmas together.

Then I thought it is great to be grateful, thankful and inspired. Then there is the fact that so many servicemen and servicewomen come home expecting their life to go back to way it was, but it doesn't. It is not just the fact that these soldiers only get paid £20,000 - £40,000 dependent on the rank with the majority being £20,000. They protect countries and young people from dangerous situations. They have to then come back to reality unable to work. It is great that we have the Invictus Games but can every solider afford to be a part of this phenomena.

Let celebrate these amazing individuals who are or have protected their country and fought in their country's name. I shall never forget how fortunate I am.

Happy Remembrance Day!

Peter Andre Big Night Tour Review (VIP Meet and Greet Ticket)

Well after 15 months I finally got to go and meet one of my celebrity idols Peter Andre at Blackpool Opera House. I understand that it costs a lot for the VIP meet and greet ticket, but I can honestly say that it is completely worth the money to save for because you will have the best time.

It was a Christmas present from last Christmas from my Mum and Dad. My experience started when I checked in with the Event Management Team who were the most accommodating I have ever seen. They were really helpful in helping us make the most of the event. After we checked in we went into sound check with Pete. We were near the centre on the front row. They were dporoximately 40 - 50 people but it is not as many as it sounds. Pete introduced us to his band after he said hello and they all did a solo. They were all very talented musicians. He performed some covers to test his microphone. My fave being  StevieWonder  - signed sealed delivered. 

Next it was time for the best part - meeting Pete. We told some expectations at check in but they were only fair as Pete only had an alloyed time for meeting everybody. When it was my turn I was amazed and a big awestruck that he was stood in front of me. He asked how I was and said I was good and asked how he was. The weird bit was that he called my dad Stuart. Don't ask why, it just did. He signed our landyards and our programmes. It was a special moment, and of course he gives the most perfect hugs and so does his brother Chris.  

After the meet and greet, we went and got a bite to eat. My dad being my dad took me to the classy joint of Subway. That's why I love him lol but we had desserts in the classy winter gardens as you do. 

Then it was time for the concert. It was awesome I loved every second. I danced the night away. The seats were beyond amazing - the fourth row centre isle needless to say I was very sore the day after but totally worth. 

Pete you rocked awesome - your best album yet. You have given me the perfect memory and I love you for it. 

Warning! Time Travel is Possible

I found this article and thought this can only end in mayhem because it will cause lots of debate and the children, teachers and parents do not get the right information or answers . Gove trying to travel back to the 1950s is not the most ideal solution to the problems faced in our current education system.

In the 1940s and 1950s education was very much based around the three Rs principles of reading, writing and arithmetic. However my point is that education has progressed since then but why did it change? I believe that change tends to happen for a reason and for me the reason in this case is the pure fact that at the time was ineffective. It changed to include a variety of subjects both in secondary and primary education of English, maths, science, RE, geography, history, art, drama, music and a modern foreign language and even more at A Level (1).

However, this idea to reduce the subjects at GCSE and A Level will reduce the amount of freedom in society, because the children will not be able to develop and explore the world. It has even been stated by the educational psychologist Vygotsky that children learned through cultural signs and symbols. If there is focus on just these skills will children be able to develop creatively (2) .

I know that focusing on these three skills there would be less illiteracy in our country with currently around 16% of adults illiterate (3) .It is also evident that this could affect those children labelled with Special Educational Needs because they don't get to work to their strengths such as problem solving and creativity. This is highlighted in the statstics by the Department for Education which states that 'the proportion of pupils with SEN without a statement achieving achieved 5 or more A* to C grades at GCSE or equivalent including English and mathematics GCSEs is 24.7% , compared to 8.5% of pupils with SEN with a statement, and 69.5% of pupils with no identified SEN.' (4)

In conclusion it highlights that even though the reforms could be effective with illiteracy. The article also highlight that the reforms could affect the way in which our children develop. Therefore it could be predicted  that with the already high unemployment rate, the unemployment rate will get even higher because the next generation will not be receiving the varied education needed to succeed.
